This is just a reminder following our recent eNews that on 1st October the following come into force:
Weights & Measures
New weights and measures legislation will allow the sale of wine in measures of under 75ml (for example, sample measures) and beers and ciders to be sold in 2/3rd pint 'schooners'.
You can access our earlier eNews here /news/general/asmallmeasuretoremember.asp
Cigarette Vending Machines
It will no longer be possible to situate cigarette vending machines in public areas of your Premises - however, it will still be possible to sell tobacco products from behind the bar.
Challenge 25 (Scotland)
There will be a requirement for operators to establish the proof of age of anybody who is seeking to buy or consume alcohol who appears to be under the age of 25. Although not a legal requirement, we recommend that any policy is in writing and that all staff are re-trained on the requirement as soon as possible.
You must also ensure that all point of sale material is changed to reflect the requirement.
